Filezilla Unable to Connect to Amazon EC2

Tried connecting with the end point using Filezilla (For Example: mysqldb.asdfghasd.us-center-9.rds.amazonaws.com) failed after the instance was mapped to the DNS.

Had the following message;

Command: open "ubuntu@PUBLIC_DNS" 22

Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity

Error: Could not connect to server

Solution: In the Host field, use the Elastic IP that is assigned to the instance.

Connecting with the Elastic IP it works. Took about 2 hours to figure this out. But a lesson well learnt.
